I'M BACKKKKKK!!!! Whew! I know I know, I took a really lonnnnnng hiatus from blogging and I sincerely apologize. Been busy rounding up my senior year but now that "it's allova", I PROMISE you all that you will be hearing from me more often. Updates: 1. I'm a graduate!!!! Graduated from Howard University aka "The Mecca". Those four years that I spend there was nothing short of trial and error if you ask me, from the random fuck-ups at the A-building (Admin), to the late nights in the medical library, group projects, research papers, professors and TAs sent straight from the bowels of Satan's kingdom (LOL), the list goes on. One thing I can say about Howard is that it has taught me the REAL meaning of the word "perseverance". I can proudly tell anyone that the Nwababy you knew from freshman year is totally different from the Nwababy you know today. I'll forever be a proud Bison alum. In the words of P. Diddy, "take that"! 2. I won the Apriltunes 2014 Online Singing COmpetition! I know a lot of people didn't know that I've been singing since high school, back in my gospel choir days, but hey, I emerged winner of this year's season and I'm uber excited bcause I'll be collabing with an A-list artist really soon. Sorry, can't tell you who it is. Can't ruin the surprise lol. 3. I'm moving back to Nigeria. This was one of the toughest decisions I've ever made in my life because one, I'm taking a huge risk trying to further my career as an entertainer, considering the fact that Nigeria is currently under attack bythose useless members of Boko Haram. But I know that whatever that is meant to be, will be. Anyway, I'll talk about the current issues in Nigeria later. Nonetheless, I hope everyone is having a great summer so far. If you're in the DMV area, make una let me know the parole for this weekend abeg. Babes gats to chop wella! LOL. Kidding. Gotta hold tight to my figure-eight. Muah! Nwa.

What Would YOU do?

Hey guys. i know, i know, its been a while since i last introduced myself and the purpose of my blog, but I promise, I'm going to keep you up to date with different topics at least once a week. Scouts' honor 😁.

Today, I'm going to share a personal story. I ran into a high school friend who I've lost touch with since graduation. Anyway sha, we finally ran into each other at a birthday party. As usual, we were excited to see each other. Alot has changed, friendships, relationships, the whole nine yards. My friend and I were busy catching up on old times, my best friend asked her about the boyfriend she had back in high school. "Y'all still together?" This is what my friend told us: she found out that, while they were together, she found out that he got another girl pregnant.

Now, if you THINK that was bad news, wait till you hear this:

She went to a family cookout, and in the midst of the festivities, her cousin, her blood cousin, confessed to her that she (the cousin) and her boyfriend had an ongoing affair. In fact, they have had sex over four times in her own house.......Now at that moment, I had to rub my ears and ask her to repeat what she just said. Least to say, I was shocked that her cousin would do something as crazy as sleeping her cousin's boyfriend right under her nose. But then, I realized that this is a new age in time where women are more than capable of doing the most despicable things, more despicable than their male counterparts. Funny enough,my friend said that although she was heartbroken, she eventually forgave her cousin after some time, and the two women have since tried to rebuild their relationship (or kinship, I guess.)

If na me, I for don beat d girl shege, hold a village meeting and have the Igwe banish her ass, lol. I digress..

I'm sure that there are people out there who have experienced the same dilemma. Please, feel free to share your stories and how you dealt with the situation (you can write anonymously btw

 Oya, let's gist!

First Of All: INTRODUCTION!

I know for a fact that some are wondering why I've decided to start a blog.
Allow me to formally introduce myself.

My name is Ifeoma C. Orji. Most people call me by my nickname, Nwababy. I am a 21 year old graduating senior (whoop whoop!) at Howard University in Washington, DC USA. As you can tell from my native name, I am a proud  "Ada-Ada" (Igbo Kwenu lol). I'm from Abia (my dad) but they say that I behave like an Anambra girl (where my mumsi's from). However, when I'm in Nigeria, I spend ALL my time in the state that barely sleeps: Lagos AKA Lasgidi. I love the hustle and bustle, but I hate the traffic there. Also, I am sooo not a village goer. I know, it's wrong, but my life is worth more than ransom money joor, haha! Sike. I go whenever I can (again, barely), and though I spend little to no time there, I absolutely love the serenity of the village. It's my place of origin. It's where my ancestors ate, farmed, married, formed families and were finally laid to rest. Therefore, it is home.
I have been involved in theatre arts since I was 9 years old. My first debut was at a Christmas play at my church, Evangel Cathedral. I've also done a couple of Nollywood and Independent films. My very first Nollywood film was shot in 2012, titled Scarlet, featuring John Dumelo and Sana Kanu-Idibia. I'm sure some of you have watched it on the Africa Magic channel on DSTV (my naija people, you know what I'm talking about). Yes, I am an uppcoming actress and aspiring artist, and I hope to be the one to inspire many others someday. Yes, I just told you my life story (well, almost), I hope somewhere along the line someone is inspired to pursue a college degree, become an entertainer, or perhaps start their own blog. And yes, I will be talking about every and anything, once again, keeping it REAL. No BS. No holding back.

Hence, the beginning of our story: As Told By Nwababy.
